Back to school with Best Buy Canada (and an iPhone 4/4s case giveaway) (CLOSED)
Are you back-to-school shopping? My kids are still young and we don’t really need a lot in the way of supplies. A lunch bag, a backpack, a pair of indoor shoes each and we’re pretty much done. Maybe a communal box of tissues?
If you have older kids, they may be at a point where they need technology to support their studies. Or perhaps you are studying yourself. Best Buy Canada can help with that.
We went to their media preview a few weeks ago, and my low-tech children immediately gravitated towards the markers and highlighters, and spent our entire visit drawing pictures of flowers and people on Post-it notes. That’s right, they pretty much ignored the laptops and tablets and smartphone accessories and went straight to doodling.
However, if you are looking for some technology for yourself or for your older kids, Best Buy Canada has created a Back to School central page to feature offers and products they think will help you.
They provided me with a Griffin Crayola Creator iPhone 4/4S Case (because of how creative my children were being, I think – smart cookies). About the case:
Crayola Case Creator lets you create an iPhone case from your own pictures, art and drawings. Download the free app from the iTunes App Store and design a printable case back using photos from your Camera Roll. Or doodle your own designs. Then add stickers and color with your favorite Crayola colors.
When you’re ready, save to Case Creator’s Gallery, then print your art onto the included pre-sized blanks on any AirPrint-enabled printer. Or mail yourself the art to print on your home printer. Or share on Facebook. Once you’ve got your artwork, insert it into the crystal-clear protective case. No matter how you show it off, Crayola Case Creator makes it easy and fun to create your own iPhone case. (from Griffin Technology)
We’re Team Blackberry in this house so I’ve decided to give this case away. I’m happy to mail it wherever you live if it’ll be useful to you (meaning, this giveaway is open to all citizens of Planet Earth).
Just follow the instructions below:
- Leave me a comment on this post: how’s the back-t0-school shopping going? What do you still need to get?
- One comment per person, please.
- Include a way to contact you if you win.
- Leave your comment before Wednesday August 22 at 10pm EST.
- I’ll use random.org then or soon after to select a winner.
- I will mail it to the winner once you have provided a postal address.
Good luck! Thanks to Best Buy Canada for the case.
Disclosure: Best Buy Canada provided me with a swag bag at the media preview event (including a gift card and some tech accessories), and the iPhone case. I was not compensated in any other way. My views are my own.

Since my daughter has sensory perception disorder, back to school shopping is usually the most stressful event in our life.
BUT, we have finished our clothes shopping!! All my darling 8 year old needs now is a backpack and some running shoes.
I teach and for the first time ever, didn’t go out and spend a ton of money on classroom supplies. It feels weird! I am sure next week I’ll think of a million things I want NOW.
My kids are older now, so school supplies have gotten much more complicated. I’ve done pretty well so far, but still need photo paper for the youngest ones photography class and the college kid informed me today that her calculator died a horrible death. So I guess I’m not done. Maybe a new pretty case with a picture of my daughters on it would cheer me up!
Can’t believe it’s BTS time already…
I remember loving going to Canadian Tire as a kid and getting so excited about back to school shopping. New pencils, and binders and notebooks! Squee!
My dudes love it too. I have to remember not to give in to buying a new pack of markers when there’s a perfectly good collection from the past 3 years!
Gotta find jack a pair of slip on shoes then I’m done!
I’d be thrilled to replace my iPhone case as mine is meh!
Although I think Tate might be more excited cause he loves “trying on” new cases at any given store!
